About this game

Step Or Splash! is a nail-biting reading game where students lead their knights across a stone bridge over a boiling lava lake. Read a stone to jump onto it. One wrong step and it's over!

How to play

1. 1Divide the class into 2–6 teams. Every team starts on the shore.
2. 2Teams take turns walking along the bridge, reading the word or sentence of every stone they step on.
3. 3A team can't stop until it moves into first place. From then on, it may stop after any stone or keep going for the castle.
4. 4If a team falls into the lava, they are out for the round.
5. 5The first team to reach the castle wins the round!
