About this game
Three rival kingdoms race to build the greatest realm. Answer questions to claim gold, then spend it on farms that pay you back, walls that keep raiders out, and victory banners that win the crown. But nobody knows what waits behind each letter. A coin purse, a raiding party, the King's favour, or a dragon that will make you rich or burn everything you own. Build boldly, defend wisely, and rule when the sun sets!
How to play
- 1Split the class into teams, then divide the teams between the three kingdoms.
- 2Each kingdom can have one or two teams, but all three kingdoms must be the same.
- 3On a kingdom's turn, the team chooses any letter on the grid and answers the question behind it. Where a kingdom has two teams, the teams alternate.
- 4A correct answer reveals the letter's hidden reward. A wrong answer ends the turn with nothing.
- 5Add any gold won to the kingdom's treasury, then choose one building to buy — only one build per turn.
- 6A Farm costs 3 gold and gives +1 gold at the start of every round.
- 7A Wall costs 3 gold and protects every space behind it in the same column.
- 8A Victory Banner costs 4 gold and is worth 5 points at the end of the game.
- 9Some letters hide a raid: the raiding kingdom picks any rival and either steals 2 gold or destroys one of their buildings. Anything behind a wall is safe, and destroyed buildings do nothing for the rest of the game.
- 10Other letters hide bigger events. A tax that costs every kingdom 2 gold, the King's favour for gold and a free second build, or a dragon that offers a huge hoard to anyone brave enough to risk its wrath.
- 11At the end of the game each kingdom scores 5 points for every Victory Banner and 1 point for every 2 gold left in its treasury.
- 12The kingdom with the most points rules!
